Our specialist mentoring sessions are tailored to meet your child’s individual emotional and social needs. Using a neuroaffirming approach, we help build emotional resilience, strengthen social communication, and support personal growth. Sessions draw on a range of evidence-based techniques, including:
- DBT Skills (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)
- PEERS Programme (for social communication)
- Post-Diagnostic Autism & ADHD Support (All sessions are designed with flexibility to meet your child’s individual needs, ensuring a supportive and effective mentoring experience.)
Let us know your child’s specific challenges, and we’ll tailor the focus to best support them.
Key Areas of Support:
PEERS Programme – Neuroaffirming Social Skills Development
We adapt the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) in a neuroaffirming way, tailoring it to your child’s needs to enhance their social communication abilities while respecting their neurotype.
DBT Skills – Practical Emotional Regulation Strategies
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) focuses on four core areas:
- Mindfulness
- Distress Tolerance
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Emotion Regulation
These areas can be challenging for autistic and ADHD children. We adapt DBT techniques to suit their individual strengths, supporting the development of emotional resilience in a way that feels accessible and relevant.
Post-Diagnostic Autism & ADHD Support
A diagnosis of autism or ADHD can bring up many questions and emotions. These sessions help children, young people, and adults process their diagnosis in a validating and empowering way. Parents, carers, and family members can also access support in understanding the diagnosis and what it means for their loved one.
Note: If you have specific questions about the diagnostic decision, it is always advisable to return to the original assessor.
Additional Bespoke Mentoring Areas:
- Pre-Diagnosis Support – Individualised, neuroaffirming guidance on understanding the diagnostic process.
- Communication Styles & Double Empathy – Exploring the differences between neurodivergent and neurotypical communication to help navigate social misunderstandings and improve relationships.
- Transition-Focused Mentoring – Support for key life transitions, such as moving from primary to secondary school or from education into the workplace. Sessions focus on identifying challenges and building essential self-advocacy skills.
All sessions are designed with flexibility to meet your child’s individual needs, ensuring a supportive and effective mentoring experience.
